ICv2.com has word that Universal will release a seven-disc Heroes Season 1 DVD box set on Aug. 28, containing all 23 episodes plus unspecified extras.
Standard DVD format will retail for $59.98; HD-DVD for $99.98.
As we head toward Monday’s season finale, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer’s Melanie McFarland provides a solid recap of this week’s episode, and offers a lengthy list of “thoughts and theories” — including questioning why Milo Ventimiglia appeared in a promo with a Sylar-sized dripping gash in his head.
In case anyone should question McFarland’s comic-book cred, she even mentions Marvel’s mutant- and supehero-registration acts in her roundup.
And New York magazine’s Vulture blog declares a certain sequence from Monday’s episode the “all-time most awesome villain death scenes in pop-culture history.” (Spoilers, naturally.)

nice. but nathan had his scar in the future cause he never absorbed claire’s powers. Sylar killed her before he could absorb them.
oh and his bloody head in the promo is probably from the episode where sylar almost finished him off.

Not quite accurate. Peter still had the scar in the timeline where he did save Claire.

Do I really have to wait until August?? I’ve only caught the series sporadically, but I’ve loved every minute of it. I can’t wait to see what extras they load on to this one!

I will definately pick this up. All I have to do is see if I can save up for the HD-DVD player for my x-box.

Well, seeing how buying online would be far cheaper from the price tags for each. Personally, unless HD-DVD has the entire series on line 2-3 discs what is the point? I wish this was on Blu-Ray. Could have had the entire thing on 1 disc.

Boo no Blu Ray!
