Viz Media is partnering with the Asian Museum of San Francisco to produce a Manga Lounge to complement the “Tezuka: The Marvel of Manga” exhibition, which is set to run June 2 to Sept. 9.
The Lounge, which opens May 11, will feature artwork, toys and collectibles that help to trace the history of manga and anime. According to the press release, “Visitors will be able to sample a vast collection of translated manga for all ages, enjoy a medley of looping anime shorts, check out a re-creation of a hardcore fan’s bedroom filled with memorabilia, and even try creating manga in the interactive drawing space.”
I’d been meaning to link to the museum’s “The Marvel of Manga” website for a while now, to single out its Manga 101-style overview, Osamu Tezuka biography, and very good blog.
