can't wait for the 30th.
I'm pushing Plain Janes like crazy to all of my customers.
I'm sure my co-workers are sick of hearing about how great you are.
speaking of which, I just finished Beige and I've already given 3 of my 6 advance copies away, i loved it that much.
Every book is better than the one before it, but somehow Boy Proof will always be my favorite.
I swear you wrote that book about me.
I am SO Egg... or am I Lake... wait maybe I'm Jane!

Hey Ralph!

Nice to meet you! I'm so excited that you liked Nerdy Girl! I did put out another CD under my "punk" name Cecil Seaskull. They're both out on iTunes. Just FYI.

And Las Vegas was one of my most favorite places I ever played. I played a house party and I had said on the college radio interview I did that I wished everyone would dress up like it was a prom and they did! And while we were playing the show, a pig was running around on the "stage."

Pretty. Awesome.

Good Times in Vegas. I totally want to come to Vegas, so maybe since I am not so far away from you, being in L.A. I will come to your town and say hello!

I loved writing The Plain Janes and I hope that I get to continue on with them. I'm glad that you enjoyed the book!

I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for more comic work.

Hi Cecil,

I got an advanced reading copy of The Plain Janes, a couple of months ago from DC (I have a store in Las Vegas - Alternate Reality Comics) and loved everything about it - the characters, the dialogue, the "message", the art with the great looking gray tones, and the format and price. This will be an easy book to sell and I hope it finds the new audience for comics that it deserves.

I had no idea that you were in Nerdy Girl! I bought that first CD years ago and play it pretty regularly (I do feel lame in admitting that as much as I liked that CD I've never checked to see if Nerdy Girl put out another release). I'll put Nerdy Girl in today's store listening rotation (and the upcoming week) and when people ask me what's playing I can also talk about The Plain Janes.

Any more comic work coming up?

Hey, y'all!

Ed! Darren!

What I think is so rad about punk, is that it really is whatever you think it is. That's why I have my pals giving me their essentials and their lists are all different! I love that! I picked Siouxsie and The Pretenders because that's what i was listening to when I was in H.S. (amongst a thousand other thngs) and also I wanted my list to have some ladies on it. Like, I seriously should have put Patti Smith on there.

And I also just pulled stuff off my laptop itunes to make a mix. I wanted to include the Subhumans "Slave to my Dick" but, I couldn't find it online.

The great thing is that every time someone sends me a list, I'm like, "OH YEAH! THAT SONG! I LOVE THAT SONG!"

And yes! I have heard that Plain Janes is out and about some places! I am so excited!

"So, was I hallucinating when I saw The Plain Janes at Barnes & Noble last week?"

Nope, I checked with DC ... the book is released in comic shops this coming Wednesday, but some book stores already have it.

Wow, I think I'm in love. A cool, cute, geeky girl who writes YA novels and comics? It's like, my dream. :D

Hey Cecil -- I'd leave Siouxie and the Banshees off any punk list, just for the Robert Smith connection, but bonus points for including the Minutemen. There was an early TSOL Ep was a really big deal to me and my friends in 1981 because "Property is Theft" ended with "President Reagan can shove it!"

And "the once over twice" by X from Wild Gift is one of the best songs of that era, for sure.
