It’s still Saturday somewhere …

…even if it’s only the internet. Larry Young drops us a note to let us know that he’s offered up six different pdf files of AiT/PlanetLar’s books — some snippets, at least one entire graphic novel — over on their website.

As for me, I spent the Free Comic Book Day holiday up in San Francisco. I took my brother to see Spider-Man 3 for his birthday, and in between eating down on the water and checking out the Yoda fountain at ILM, hit a couple of comic shops — Comix Experience and Things from Another World — to pick up some free comics, some Buffy comics for my brother and Truth Serum for myself. We hit TFAW pretty early in the day; it’s in the Metreon, the shopping mall where we saw SM3, and they seemed to be getting a lot of visits from folks coming in to see the movie. They only had the mainstream offerings, so I picked up the Spider-Man, Wolf-Man and Umbrella Academy books while there.

I hit CE around 6 p.m., and they said they’d seen a lot of traffic that day … the stacks of free comics were fairly picked over, but they did have two I was hoping to get my hands on, Gumby and Comics Festival. I haven’t had a chance to read any of them yet, but that’s what the lazy Sunday that comes after Free Comic Book Day is for.

Update: Brian Hibbs posts about the heavy traffic they saw all day over on the CE blog.
