Rotten Tomatoes has compiled a list of 93 “comix movies,” ranked in order from worst- to best-reviewed. It doesn’t cover every one — no Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, for example — thanks to the list’s methodology. Only movies with 20 or more “rated reviews” by May 2, 2007, were eligible, and there’s also some math involved.
As a plus, the movies listed are apparently all adaptations (live-action and animated) of comics or manga, so no Matrix or My Super Ex-Girlfriend, regardless of how comic-book-inspired those might have been.
The oldest movies on the list are Barbarella (1968) and Superman (1978), representing their respective decades. About half the list comes from 2000 or later, which isn’t surprising, given the nature of RT’s review-collecting and the trends of the last 10-15 years.
The list’s highest-ranked movie of 2007 (Spider-Man 3 wasn’t included) was 300 (No. 34), followed by TMNT (66), Ghost Rider (71), and Pathfinder (86). 2006’s movies were led by Superman Returns (17), Over The Hedge (20), V For Vendetta (22), X-Men: The Last Stand (38), Azumi (51), Art School Confidential (65), The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life Of Ethan Green (67), and Garfield: A Tale Of Two Kitties (88). The first Fantastic Four placed 78th.
The list’s bottom 10 are (counting up from No. 93) Son of the Mask, Elektra, Catwoman, Garfield the Movie, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Garfield: A Tale Of Two Kitties, Batman & Robin, Pathfinder, Virus, and Monkeybone. The top 10, again in ascending order, are Metropolis (the 2002 anime), Superman, Batman Begins, Men In Black, A History Of Violence, X2: X-Men United, Spider-Man, Ghost World, American Splendor, and Spider-Man 2.
If my math is correct, Spider-Man 3 would currently rest at No. 37, right behind Mystery Men (36) and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (35) and right ahead of Ichi the Killer and X-Men: The Last Stand.

“Road to Perdition” isn’t in the Top 10? Or number 1 where it should be? That’s ridiculous.

Looks like they messed up your title.
They updated the list and it now includes Spider-Man 3 (at 35).

That list just goes to prove how worthless the opinions of reviewers are.
