The Washington Post’s Express talks with writer Joshua Hale Fialkov about finally seeing Elk’s Run completed and in print:
Express: Elk’s Run garnered a lot of good press and award nominations when it first came out. Was it frustrating to have to hold back the finale?
Fialkov: We had finished and turned in, I believe, all the issues. It’s one thing to start something and never have it finished, but to actually do the work and to spend so long getting it ready and getting it perfect, and to have people e-mailing me constantly, and to have all these fans on messages boards saying, “Is it going to come out?” “I can’t wait, I really want to see it.” It’s really kind of maddening when you have the book done and you can’t do anything with it.
Elk’s Run was released in late March by Villard.
