In a pair of interviews posted over the weekend, Avi Arad put an end to one movie rumor while sparking another.
Last week, Ain’t It Cool passed along gossip that Galactus would appear in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer as a storm cloud instead of the helmet-wearing, purple-clad giant. But in an interview with IESB.net, the movie’s producer denied the rumor.
“You know, that’s why they call them rumors,” Arad said. “You will see more than a cloud, you will have enough Galactus to rejoice.”
But as that rumor dies, another takes its place. In an excerpt from a Spider-Man 3 press-junket interview with Collider.com, Arad seems to imply that in the new Hulk film the Green Goliath could be the Gray Goliath.
When asked how much of the effects and CGI from Ang Lee’s 2003 movie will be incorporated into the new production, Arad said, in part, “None. No. It’s a new Hulk, new direction, new size, new color, new attitude. Anything that was done before is not in this movie. It’s a very different kind of Hulk.”
Then, when he was pressed about the possibility of a gray Hulk, Arad replied, “We’ll see, I don’t know.”

The only problem is… I saw the novelization of the FF2 movie this weekend at a bookstore, so I skimmed through it looking to confirm. “Gah Lak Tus” (yes, that’s how it’s referred to in the book) is described as a “swirling cloud of organic matter.” So either they put out a novelization meant to deliberately mislead, or someone’s being disingenuous at best.

If they make Galactus a big swirling purple cloud, I will never watch another Marvel movie again. Period.
Its bad enough they ruined Venom, but Galactus is EPIC, they better do the Galactus we all know and love.
