This is pretty cool … the students at the Center for Cartoon Studies in Vermont have set up a website where they’re displaying their work and selling mini-comics … check it out at iknowjoekimpel.com. Student Adam Staffaroni dropped us a note about the site:

We have a minicomics store which, in addition to student work, has work from CCS Fellow Ken Dahl and artist/sometimes professor Rich Tommaso. We’ve just added a blog to post artwork samples, updates on our projects, and about all the visiting artists constantly coming to the school. Also, some students are already receiving very good reviews from The Comics Journal and Indie Spinner Rack. Details are all in our press release at www.iknowjoekimpel.com/Press.php.

So who, exactly, is Joe Kimpel, the guy who the site is named for? Adam explains:

When the first class of CCS students all arrived in Vermont, it turned out that a number of us, although we had never met each other, all new the same person, Joe Kimpel (All independent of comics. Joe doesn’t even read comics).

I guess you could say he’s the Kevin Bacon of the CCS.
