Variety reports that Edward Norton has signed on to play Bruce Banner in the sequel to the 2003 Hulk film.
“Edward Norton is a rare talent and one of the most versatile actors in the business,” Marvel Studios production president Kevin Feige said in a statement. “His ability to transform into a particular role makes him the ideal choice to take on the character of Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Edward is perfectly suited to bring one of the most popular and important Marvel icons to the bigscreen in a new and exciting way.”
The Incredible Hulk will be directed by Louis Leterrier, whose previous work includes the two Transporter films. Norton, of course, has appeared in Fight Club, American History X, The Italian Job, Death to Smoochy and one of the best films of last year, The Illusionist. For his role in that film, Norton told the make-up artist he wanted “to look like Dr. Strange.”

So he’s going to be in Toronto for this one, then. That should be interesting, along with seeing which city/cities Toronto will have to pretend to be this time.
