I’ve been searching for the right words to explain the awesomeness of Fist-A-Cuffs — “Where drawings are voted to the death and the streets run black with ink.” Then I saw that one of the participants (Contestants? Fighters?), Paul Pope, talked about it on his site … so take it away, Paul:
Fist-a-Cuffs is an ingeniously simple art-game invented by my friend Sam Hiti, and it might be the most fun to be had with a piece of paper since Exquisite Corpse.
Basically it’s an art game where each artist creates a character, then said character is matched up against other characters in a deathmatch tournament where fans vote on which one they think would win in a fight. In addition to Pope, other artists playing the game include Ted Mathot, Scott Morse, Dean Trippe and Kieron Dwyer, among many others.
The current game is a tag-team tournament, teaming up two characters by different artists. Go check it out!

Fist-a-Cuffs rules. But then, it’s a Sam Hiti creation, so of course it would.

“The first rule of Fist-a-Cuffs is that you don’t ta… oh, you get it.”
That was almost my headline.

Clearly, if I’m going to make a shout-out to Fist-a-Cuffs on my blog, I’m going to have to come up with something other than a Fight Club reference in the title…
