Is it because he creates trippy, spazzy, horrific manga like Drifting Classroom where the volume is constantly turned up to 11 and fathers stab their sons with their eyeglasses? Well, mostly, yes. But it’s also because he has the guts to share his photo album with his online fans: all 180 pictures worth! There’s goth Umezu! Fake poop-eating Umezu! Very young Umezu! Vampire Umezu! This is a man who is simply not afraid of looking very silly, and for that, I salute him. But also for the eyeglasses stabbing thing.
