As if her work on Demo, East Coast Rising or being the best thing about Vertigo’s American Virgin (written by Steven Seagle) wasn’t enough, Becky Cloonan gives you another reason to love her:
Steve Seagle had helped write an issue of X men (uncanny, issue 350) where gambit was left stranded in antarctica, and i was so upset by this turn of events that i stopped buying the comic! But thank god i was only 16 and didn’t have internet access because later i ended up working with him! And what do you know, Steve is an amazing writer and so much fun to work with. I didn’t find out until last year that he worked on that issue anyway, so it was a funny surprise to me and makes me feel like “American Virgin” is my destiny or something.
Anyway, I was just really lucky I didn’t have internet at 16 because I might have written some stupid things on some message board so if Steve had done a search on my name he would have had a bad impression of me. It’s like everyone is airing their dirty laundry without thinking that the internet never sleeps, and it never forgets.
It’s in the middle of this thread on the Engine about the Jesse Hamm/Mark Waid punch-up that everyone took more seriously than I think either Jesse or Mark did.

I’m just bummed that the thread got closed down.
