Maybe, we’ll see Tobey Maguire and not Jake Gyllenhaal as Peter Parker after Spider-Man 3 after all, says Dark Horizons. “It all depends on if there’s a story worth telling,” Maguire says.
Like fodder for great Spidey stories and super-villians (The Lizard and Electro for two) are in short supply…

I hope they can keep the same core cast if they do Spidey 4…I don’t know why they wouldn’t…The franchise is a big money-maker. Look what happened with the Batman with different actors all the time…
I think they should develop a plan to go to Spidey 6 and the sixth installment…Spider-Man vs the Sinister Six (Goblin, Doc Ock, Sandman, Venom, Lizard and Mysterio or Electro…)
If I could play Spidey I’d never quit…

I’m hoping the main cast sticks around, but if that’s not the case, then at least keep Raimi and co. around; they’ll see to it that it’s a worthwhile movie.
I’ve always said that Val Kilmer and George Clooney weren’t bad actors for Batman, it was the scripts/screenplays that were the true trash of those two. Clooney was quoted as saying he killed Batman or something like that; not true, Akiva Goldsman and Joel Schumacher killed Batman.
Fortunately, Nolan and Bale brought him back.

I’d agree with Drew Clements on this: if Clooney had had Nolan and company’s script to work with, he’d still be playing the Bat today.

Let’s hope this franchise has legs well into the future with the original crew.
