Can’t Wait for Wednesday

March 27th, 2007

Spring is finally here! I got to enjoy some of great weather and read my comics outdoors this weekend. Sadly, my area has a winter storm warning. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. I just hope the storm doesn’t delay the comic shipment.

Stephanie Chan’s Pick of the Week

I want some fun reading to sit by the warm fire and drink hot chocolate with. It’s more of a graphic novel week for me this time around, so I’m picking up Tank Girl vol. 2 and 3. You know, I recently attended a comic jam (where you draw a panel of a comic for 15 minutes and then pass it to the next person) and I was surprised some of the guys there didn’t know who Tank Girl was! *shock and sadness*

JK Parkin’s Pick of the Week

I’m going to go with Unique #1, as I loved Dean Motter’s work on Terminal City for Vertigo back in the 1990s.

Tom Bondurant’s Pick of the Week

I’m not really excited about a whole lot this week, and am probably looking forward the most to Batman #664. It’s the start of Grant Morrison’s look back at Batman’s early days, which I dearly hope is not another Untold Tale Of Year One. It’s also the last issue of the title until May, so I’m hoping it will tide me over.

Kevin Melrose’s Pick of the Week

There are a couple of books I’m looking forward to this week — The Pirates of Coney Island #5, Texas Strangers #1 — but my pick has to be the Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, Vol. 1, hardcover, which collects the Mary Jane and Mary Jane: Homecoming miniseries, plus the first five issues of the current series. I’m a big fan of the title in all its incarnations, but I’ve passed along several individual issues to relatives and friends, which leaves a few holes in my collection. So it will be nice to have everything together in one oversized book.

So what are your picks this week? Diamond has the list right here.

I’m looking forward to Paul Pelletier’s first FF issue. McDuffie has the beginning of writing on par with Waid’s FF.
