Did I miss the mention of how Buffy TVS season 8 sold out. Editor Scott Allie had a great interview and all we can get is the tired ramblings about Marvel and DC?

Great Muppety Odin! Give Buffy her due!

How many freaking events is Marvel DOING this year? Civil War just finished, the Inititiave is still going, then Planet Hulk, the mystic thing that I can't recall the name of, still fall-out from Annihilation and NOW a X-event for the fall...

Man if I were still regularly buying their stuff I'd be burned out by June...

The real question is: Who, other than Paul O'Brien, is going to read all SEVENTEEN of those x-event prologue books? Paul, if you read this, I'm weeping for you man. Can't wait to see the X-Axis recap all this junk but it looks like a slog.

It's an x-men event that requires you to buy extra books to get? How exactly to you make an event without people having to buy something they didnt before?

Apparently the guy who rattled on about DC still having a patriotic hero has forgotten that Superman Returns had, "truth, justice, and all that other stuff." Heck...might as well have said, "truth, justice, and alllllllllllllllllll ... thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat ... jazzzzzzzzzzzz," so it at least got a laugh in addition to the cries of being un-American.

"That’s right - It’ll return us to the days when fans complained that they had to buy multiple series to understand stories, and thought that Cyclops was a dick to walk out on his wife and kid."

Well, Mutant Massacre wrought genuine change in tone and story in the X-titles that lasted for years, Inferno paid off long-running subplots in all three X-titles, and Fall of the Mutants... (Hm... Did any series actually cross over during Fall? Still major events, just separate.)

So yeah, I'd consider those the kind of stories that many modern crossovers want to be when they grow up.
