Micheal and Randy,

I believe in another interview Ed or Joe implies that Ed came up with the idea and pitched it DURING a Civil War planning meeting. Either way if you read the issue it sure seems to fit organically with the storyline so it's probably all good.

Why does something tell me that Rich is goona get revenge on Marvel on behalf of all the pissed off retalers and spoil Ronin for us? Or the truth of this "death" maybe? Hey... What about that cloning stuff they used for Clor...

Hey Michael,

I'm not a JoeyQ fan, but what he said and what Brubaker said aren't necessarily contradictory.

Quesada said the decision was made a Civil War conference, and Brubaker said that something like this would happen eventually. Could just mean that he planned on someone else taking over the name Captain America somewhere down the road anyway.

As Graeme quoted Brube: "f Civil War had not come along, it may have taken a while longer to get here, and Cap may or may not have been killed, but this is all fitting into my plans and leading to some great things in Cap."

Did anyone else read this week's New Joe Friday's to imply that the idea of killing Cap was made at the Civil War planning meeting and that Brubaker just went along with it, which contradicts what Brubaker has said elsewhere about having plans to do this (or something like this?) and just pushing those plans up to coincide with the end of Civil War? Or did Quesada just not know that Brubaker was planning this on his own? I am confused.

Monday's LITG, huh? I'm there.

You know, I really wonder what DC will come up with to top this Cap stuff.

Because the media-coverage of Superman's death wasn't this big, was it? I was a wee lad back then so the memory is kind of fuzzy.

Sales-wise, yeah, Cap's death isn't going to top Superman's, so DC still has that. But in a world of "And so what have you done lately?" media-wise, DC is kind of getting their a** handed to them.

2008 is Superman's 70th, so they better do something really big, like kill somebody or something. I don't know who, but somebody's gotta die. :D

LOL...If your last sentence wound up being true, I'd love to notice the silence on message boards as more than half the posting comic fans would have an aneurysm.
