300 starts strong with $27.8 million opening day

March 10th, 2007

Zack Snyder’s adaptation of 300, Frank Miller and Lynn Varley’s epic tale of the Battle of Thermopylae, brought in an estimated $27.8 million on Friday, showing on 3,103 screens.

That could put 300 on track for one of the biggest March opening weekends ever. Ice Age: The Meltdown currently holds that record, with a $68 million opening weekend.

This movie was amazing. Epic in every sense, and the visuals were the best. If no one has told you yet, you should go see this movie.
