Talking about product placements, Lamborghini’s Murcielago Roadster LP640 may attract a ton of attention at car shows, but not nearly as many eyeballs as it will in the Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight opening in the summer of 2008, according to Brandweek.
Though no money will change hands between Warners and Lamborghini, the automaker will lend a LP640 — the average sticker price is in the $350,000 range — for use during the production of Dark Knight, perhaps as a snazzy ride for Batman’s alter-ego.
Why? [We want to] boost sales by up to 10% in the U.S. this year, thanks to a little more ambition in the marketing department,” says Stephan Winkelmann, Automobili Lamborghini CEO. “We do not pay for product placement. And we do not allow our cars to be placed just anywhere. It has to be perfect. Something like the next Batman film is suitable for our image. We will not be in films that we don’t like.”
So, how many of you fankids can actually afford a LP640?
