Optimus Prime and the Newspaper Association of America have teamed up to sell more newspapers.
“This ad continues OPTIMUS PRIME’s rich legacy of public service – he regularly concluded his animated broadcasts with an intimate and encouraging public service message,” according to hasbro.com. I don’t remember the PSA’s at the end of Transformers, but I’m guessing they were recycled versions of G.I. Joe’s “Knowing is half the battle” bits. (And I still play it safe around power lines, thanks in part to Roadblock … and they say cartoons rot your brain).
I wonder what sections the Transformers favor? Prime probably reads his all the way through, while that Bumblebee scamp no doubt jumps to the comics. Soundwave probably checks out the want ads, because nobody wants to hire a cassette player nowadays.

Now if only Optimus Prime could make our president read the paper once in a while, that would be nice.

I’m not sure making it look like Prime is taking a leisurly dump is the best advertising.

I have to second Joe’s comment…how long before we see a photoshop’d version of Prime on the throne?
