You must see 300 in IMAX!

300

I haven’t been terribly interested in following the hype surrounding the March 9 debut of 300. But I learned something this week that probably changed my mind about seeing it right away, and, perhaps, you’ll feel the same way: The newer TV promos — saw one on House Tuesday night — have mentioned the fact 300 will also be released in IMAX and the Warner Bros. Web site confirms it too.

If you live in or near a major city, chances are pretty good you already have access to a real, honest-to-God IMAX theatre. And, yes, it’s a bit more expensive, especially if you’re used to going to the cheapo Saturday matinees.

Having had the opportunity to see Batman Begins, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, V For Vendetta and Superman Returns on the multi-story IMAX screen, however, I can’t imagine a better venue for watching any funnybook-to-film or one laden with so many SFX.

BTW, Batman Begins set a record on its inaugural weekend, grossing more than $3 million on just 55 IMAX screens, the best five-day opening for any new film opening simultaneously in conventional theatres and IMAX.

Here’s hoping Fox will have the good sense to release Spider-Man 3 in IMAX this May too…
