Eric Powell to draw Action Comics. Who knew?
Eric Powell stands poised to tackle an icon, and the timing couldn’t be better. The man best known for his creator-owned book The Goon has been pegged to pencil a three-issue Action Comics arc beginning in issue #854 that will focus on the Bizarro World discovered in Action Comics Annual #10.
“He’s going to be perfect for this arc, and I’m really looking forward to it,” exclaims Action Comics writer and Powell collaborator Geoff Johns. “He can bring a point of view to Bizarro World that I don’t think a lot of guys could.”
“I get to draw a bunch of whacked-out stuff in Bizarro World,” says Powell. “If I was ever meant to draw a Superman story, this is it.”

This is really cool news, but cripes - the Kuberts really aren’t working out too well schedule-wise at DC, are they?

Dood, awesome. Love The Goon and Powell’s art so this should be really fun.
And don’t even get me started on the Kubert borthers’ inability to keep schedules. Very lame. IMO, they should be replaced by on-schedule artists and sent packing.

I don’t care about the Kubert not being on this book for this arc. Eric Powell is a PERFECT choice here.

Thank you, Lord God, for this moment.

If you think the Kubert’s have been slow, take a look at how often Goon comes out.
Just sayin’
