Thanos, the Mad Titan, bested by Flash Thompson

A poster at Scans Daily reads The Marvel Encyclopedia, only to discover a “grave injustice” has been committed: Thanos — the Mad Titan, the conqueror of galaxies, the shrivel-faced stalker of Death — had received only a miniscule entry, roughly the size of the cheapest, saddest obituary in a smalltown newspaper.

To make matters worse, Thanos’ shame is amplified by his placement just above the half-page entry for one Eugene “Flash” Thompson. Really, I think Flash deserved a full page, if only because of Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane.

The outraged poster can live with the attention given to the star athlete of Midtown High. But he draws the line at The Prowler.

“Some of the people who got entries 2 or 3 times the size of his are just ridiculous,” spacechild writes. “I mean, Flash Thompson never threatened the universe, but he was a major character in the most popular series in Marvel history from the start, so it’s at least vaguely understandable. But the Prowler?! Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, people!”

What annoyed me is that some supporting characters who don’t support their own books have big entries, while characters with their own titles currently running get no more than a paragraph or two.

Hey man, don’t be hatin’ on Hobie.
