Johnny Storm is a bit of a Renaissance man: superhero, mechanic, explorer, actor, lady’s man … rapper? A purple tuxedo-wearing rapper. And he’s quite the dancer. At least that’s what I get from this clip from a 1994 episode of the Fantastic Four animated series.
Beyond Johnny’s smooth dance moves, I think my favorite part is that in the Marvel Universe orchestras come equipped with drum machines.

I’m pretty sure the voice actor for that season was the guy who played the white rapper on Beverly Hills 90210, too.

Ha! You’re right: Brian Austin Green voiced the Human Torch for the first 13 episodes.
That’s beautiful.

Nevermind…I finished watching it and can see there is NO WAY that this wasn’t part of the show…wow…

Is it or isn’t it? Lips/voice don’t sync up, but that may not mean much. Inquiring fanboys want to know.
Seriously, is it so wrong that I really dug that rap? Ok, treat that as a rhetorical question.

Horrible for 1994 (considering what DC was doing with Batman at that time in terms of animation…), but I actually bought the DVD of the series just to show my son that there’s an animated series where Ben Grimm does not have the “4″ painted on his chest (as done in the 2006 Cartoon Network series). Sure I could have shown him the 1967 series (which I think airs on Boomerang), but I opted for this series (no not this scene).

It could have been worse; it could have been Herbie the Robot doing the rapping!
(and yes I know Herbie was from a different season)
