If you think the premise for Will Smith’s upcoming superhero film project, Tonight He Comes, feels an awful lot like My Super Ex-Girlfriend, don’t be so sure…
Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg called the film, “a superhero love story,” according to Entertainment Weekly’s Deal Report, about “a womanizing, alcoholic, chain-smoking crime fighter with image problems” who falls for the wife (Charlize Theron) of his newly hired publicist (Jason Bateman, nee of Arrested Development) after Smith finishes the sci-fi vampire remake, I Am Legend.
Since I like Smith in funnybook films like Men in Black and romantic comedies like Hitch — although not so much in Wild, Wild West (couldn’t get past my love for the original 60s series on that one) — I’m willing to give this one a chance… unless, of course, the trailer is a total train wreck!
