Elizabeth:

Both Karen and Mary largely have the same perspective on the event, but I felt the expression of them in these specific posts varied enough to warrant a P/CP. YMMV, naturally. :-)

Setting this up as point/counterpoint is not in any way representative of anything other than Karen and Mary's differing reactions at receiving encouraging news. Both Karen and Mary feel that this isn't enough. (See forum post)

I think Batman is afraid to put a display up for Spoiler. He had that memorial for Jason Todd up all those years, and now that he's back, all the other superheroes are laughing at him behind his back.

Honestly, Batman-Prime is an awesome idea. DC should've thought of it decades ago.

He could meet Cary Bates.

Jake: Given some of the goofiness floating around DC now, I would totally say yes. We can make this work! Picture a Batman Prime as a determined, Adam West-ish kind of Batman, slipping a BAT-TIME-SHATTERING BRASS KNUCKLE out of his utility belt and over one fist as he just wails on the damn continuity wall. Over and over.

"I would not say no to a writer bringing her back to life though. Man, make up any ridiculous reason you want, I’d take it. "

How about new character Batman-Prime punching through time?

I'm glad. I liked Spoiler and whatever else you can say, she died a Robin. She deserved something as simple as her own case in the cave. (But yeah, in the Robin cave? Jesus Batman, come ON) To me it's not only about girls, it's also about making new characters leave a lasting impression. If you want your audience to care about these new people in your comic, you have to convince us that the old characters care about them as well. Little gestures like this are a good way to do it.

"yeah…but what does a Batcave memorial to Stephanie do to stop the “women in refrigerators” thing?"

Kevin: I think it helps mitigate the shitty death she received a little, by at least enforcing the fact that Stephanie was a person deserving full honors instead of another plot point to be forgotten.

yeah...but what does a Batcave memorial to Stephanie do to stop the "women in refrigerators" thing? People get all mixed up with their passions. They have an opinion that they are entitled to and then make pointless demands.

Call it an extension of the "Women in Refrigerators" Syndrome. girl-wonder.org is the latest outbreak of people unwilling to put up with it anymore, and Stephanie "Spoiler/Robin IVB" Brown was their particular "last straw".

Do enlighten me then Dwight. Because from my point of view, it was just needless whining to get recognition for a character who barely mustered any while alive, and does not really deserve any while dead.
