KISS partners with Platinum Studios

January 30th, 2007

More information has been released concerning the KISS comic we reported about a couple of weeks ago. According to The Hollywood Reporter, original band members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have signed an agreement with Platinum Studios to produce the comic books, with the aging rockers having complete control of the content under the banner of KISS Catalog Ltd.

Curiously, the first release will be three-foot-tall comic set for March release. For $50. I can already hear complaints about shelving, and the lack of yard-long polybags.

The KISS-Platinum venture, called the KISS Comics Group, has plans to expand into multimedia platforms.

The legendary first KISS comic book was published in 1977 by Marvel, and featured the band’s blood mixed with the red ink.

This delights me. I’m not sure the nostalgia is enough to prompt me to *purchase*, but I’m delighted nonetheless.
