Katie’s out … is Rachel in?

With Katie Holmes bowing out of the next Batman movie, rumor has it that Rachel McAdams may be stepping in:

Then, Variety confirmed that Holmes had officially dropped out to join Mad Money with Diane Keaton and Queen Latifah. Now, the rumor mill is at full tilt about Rachel McAdams being the front-runner to replace Holmes as ‘the girl’ in the film. It’s all completely unsubstantiated at this date, but another rumor — that McAdams has been asked to make an appearance in the film as Selena Kyle — seems somehow more credible. Also, Nolan is still looking for his Harvey Dent, so it may be a while before this cast begins to fall into place.

If it happens, it will definitely be an upgrade.

Another one bites the dust

Per a recent TV Guide cover story on Heroes, someone is destined to die this season …

Hit us with the bad news first. Who’s dying? Are we going to hate you?
Some people will be upset, sure. During February sweeps we are going to kill off one of our regulars, someone who has been with the show from the very beginning.

You’re using the word “regular” as opposed to “hero.” Is that a clue?
You know what? I personally never use the term “hero” because I happen to know that, ultimately, some of these seemingly heroic characters will not be heroic. But with our ability to bend time and change things, not all those who are killed are making their last appearance on the show — and we actually do have plans for the character who’s dying.

X-Men, Superman top the box office this week

Or at least a parody fo them did … Epic Movie, by the makers of Scary Movie, brought in $19 million at the box office. Here’s a review of the film in case you were entertaining thoughts of adding to that total.

I didn’t know there were Scientologists in the Hellfire Club.

You know, I thought Katie Holmes did an excellent job in Batman Begins. Unfortunately, every time I saw her on screen, I couldn’t think of anything but her and the weirdo. Which distracted from a great movie.

McAdams would be a great casting, especially as Selina Kyle…

Now if only they can get rid of Lois FOREHEAD Lane.

One of the big problems with the prior Batman movies was the constant introduction of love interests.

The obvious plotline would be to keep the Katie Holmes, make her the love interest of Harvey Dent, and then kill her off in way that sets up conflict between Dent/Two-Face and Batman in a future movie.

And if they want to do some more stunt casting, introduce Michelle Williams as Harley Quinn.

You guys are missing the real story. They’re finally making a movie out of Jim Cramer’s show on CNBC. I think it’s time to buy some stock in microphones that make that crazy echo effect.

Rachel McAdams as love interest? Nice. As Selena? Hrrmmm…
