DC Comics has announced it will make The P.L.A.I.N. Janes returnable for qualifying retailers who order through Diamond Comic Distributors.

The graphic novel, by author Cecil Castellucci and artist Jim Rugg, is the first title in DC’s new Minx line for teen girls. It’s scheduled for a May 16 release.

According to the press release, returnability will depend on the number of copies a retailer orders. ICv2.com has the complete breakdown.

“We have a great deal of confidence in The P.L.A.I.N. Janes as a title that can sell well in all channels,” Bob Wayne, DC’s VP-Sales, says in the release. “With that in mind, we’re offering comics retailers this low-risk way to increase their orders on the title.”

After the May launch, DC plans to release a new Minx title each month. Other books in the line include: Clubbing, by Andi Watson and Josh Howard; Confessions of a Blabbermouth, by Mike Carey, Louise Carey and Aaron Alexovich; Good as Lily, by Derek Kirk Kim and Jesse Hamm; Kimmie66, by Alexovich; Re-Gifters, by Mike Carey, Sonny Liew and Marc Hempel; and Water Baby, by Ross Campbell.
