But if it wasn’t for your misfortunes I’d be a heavenly person today

Mark Engblom's Super Powers shirt

Experts in England have deemed today Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Six factors, they say, are the cause: weather, debt, time since Christmas, time since failing our New Year’s resolutions, low motivational levels and feeling a need to take action.

Our buddy Mark Engblom has a way to beat the Blue Monday blues … he’s holding a contest where comic fans identify several “blue” comic characters for the chance to win the shirt pictured to the right. Some of the choices are pretty easy, some not so much.

As for Blue Monday, I did pay off my Christmas credit card debt this morning, which was kind of depressing, but there are several other things going on today that lifted my spirits … not the least of which are the return of Heroes and Prison Break, the reuniting of Rage Against the Machine and the fact that I beat Kevin Melrose to the punch (barely) on the Couriers movie news this morning.

Ummm…would it be ok for me to comment here that I’d kill for tickets to that event where Rage is reuniting? I know it isn’t a comic book related comment…but still…

Rage Against the Machine is ALWAYS on topic.

They’re appearing at Coachella, April 27-29 in Indio, CA. The complete line-up can be found here:
