we as smallville and justice league fans need to get everybody mobilized and push for a series spin off called justice

i since january have been playing over this episode again and again. i really think now is the time not a year from now or after season 7 whatever to do this

i think that they should continue until this last season ends

they close out phantom zone story arc. then have clark go to the fortress

twelve years later what the movie has us used to, start the new series.

see on this smallville series he meets them backwards from the comics but either way they are fighting injustice during the years he is gone

he comes back and begins to lead them. Batman and all of them need their justice league colors and use the 33.1 army arc to finally bring in the legion of doom.

i mean he already has that mihkail guy from the 5 dimension in there. he has also met brainiac he was a member

i love this show really dont want them to go one more year already pushed his training back a year remember arrival episode he was starting it before chloe walked in there

The last minute of the show (quotes approximate)- Chloe: “Clark, you have some remarkable friends”. Clark looks at her and sez, “Yes,I do”. That called for a George Reeves “wink”!

I had mixed reactions to it.

on the one hand, my geek factor was thru the roof with all the in-jokes and nods to JL continuity.

otoh, the story didn’t flow too well for me, and most of it seemed forced (more than usual) just to get to the Big Boom at the end.

Why did Clark ask Chloe to double-check there were no heat signatures? for the same reason he didn’t know about the lab full of Kryptonite: numerous rooms lined with lead blocked his X-Ray vision.

Why did Clark okay the building’s destruction? Not just to destroy any ‘meteor freak’ data, but also to destroy any possible evidence on camera of the group’s presence.

(altho I have to question why that explosion didn’t send that ton of Green K flying all over Metropolis?)

costumes: WAY too “Ultimates” for me (JLUltimates?), but most realistic since F4 movie costumes. Just lose Bart’s hoodie (LOVE the lightning on his back tho!) and can I say I am THRILLED they didn’t call him “FLASH”! I even referred to him only as “Kid Impulse” when he ‘graduated’ to the Titans. Someone (and we all know who) can’t seem to let him mature on his own. I’min the camp that wants to de-age him out of the new Flash title and return Wally (and his family) where he belongs.

IF this turned into a backdoor pilot for a JL TV series, I can see them keeping similar looks. As for the (possible) spin-off line-up, I can see keeping this group, minus Clark, but definitely in need of some females to balance the team (Vixen? Fire? Ice? Z?), too bad the most obvious top two choices (WW, BC) are tied up by technicalities, elsewhere.

I do agree with several people that this series is definitely going to cause problems with Clark hiding his future identity. For Lex, I have always thought they can play the ‘amnesia card’, considering his past mental problems (maybe with an assist from J’onn? missed his ep, so I can’t be too sure).

For everyone besides Lex:
Lana HAS to know by series’ end,
Lois should take the “That’s TOO obvious to be true” tack (until their engagement),
and
Chloe…I still say the series ends with her death, spurring Clark to finally make his public debut.

The episode was good if you had seen the other eps with the characters and wanted to see them again somehow. It would be great to see them do their own series, if only to get them some decent stories, character arcs and costume changes. O, and either Canary or WW. Sadly, in this Clark continues to be thick as all get-out, hovering fearfully at the doorway to being a real hero and not really striking one as the sharp-witted Superman he’s supposed to become.

However, if you think of this as an Elseworlds tale, where the League are Bat-and-Martian-free, and that Clark will become Supernova as a trial run before becoming Superman, then it sort of works. Of course, in that case, Chloe should become possessed by a Kryptonian spirit a la Lex getting Zodded, only in Chloe’s case, she’d become Power Girl.

I thought Justice was really good. All the characters worked well together and had good little quips between each other as expected. I hope to see more like this.

Nyhardcore calls the series as a whole “hokey soap-opera-ish” and I think he has hit the nail on the head. The series, especially this episode, is just FUN. I think it’s silly the way so many posters were expecting The Brothers Karamozov or something. Sure the costumes were hokey, sure they took some liberties with DC continuity, sure the romance subplots tend to dominate, sure the characters act like kids – this is, after all, a primetime tweenager soap opera about young superheroes, for God’s sake. Of course it’s all those things! That’s the point! I mean, if this wacky little live-action Justice League didn’t appeal to the inner fanboy in you, why the heck are you reading superhero comics in the first place!?

I’ve only seen Smallville once before and thought it was kind of hokey soap-opera-ish. I checked this episode out on Youtube, because Green Arrow is my favorite DC character. Overall, I still think it’s a pretty cheesy show, but I wasn’t overly disgusted with it. It was fun, I geeked out a little bit and went on with my life.

Clark blowing up a Luthorcorp plant experimenting on (read: torturing) innocent superhumans is no worse than Superman leveling a hidden Luthor base in the comics. Besides, unlike some superhero comics I could name, Clark and the JLA made certain Luthor employees (good and evil) escaped BEFORE the bombs went off.

Frankly, it would be moral cowardice for the JLA to not destory the Luthorcorp plant. They are superheroes, after all.

On lighter matters, “Justice” was what I expected: a fun, escapist superhero team-up adventure. I wish more Smallville episodes was as enjoyable as this one was.

Better than most episodes of the show, with a good sense of hero comraderie and good variations on the real heroes (especially Bart). But Calrk’s willingness to blow up the LuthorCorp plant was just not what I want from the future Superman. This version of the JLA might play by harsher rules, but I don’t want to see Supes using those rules as well.

Otherwise, this was loads of fun, with the best use of Chloe in ages, interesting (if not perfect) costumes, and a reminder of why Bart Allen works better as a teen.

I thought the episode was OK. I guess I had bigger expectations. I am getting tired of them trying to squeeze too much into too little time. Do a few 2 parters. I like Clarks continuing evolution in super heroism. In this episode he sees proactive hero’s working for what they believe is the common good and he knows that he needs to head in that direction too.
What I always loved about this show is filling in the back story to get us to Superman and the other well known characters. That is moving way too slow for me now and there are some glaring issues that I can’t seem to get past. 1) How is he going to be able to go from Clark super guy to Superman and Clark mild mannered reporter after all of this super Clark stuff? How will they explain all that and how will all the others around him not see who Superman really is when he show’s up eventually? 2) Lois and Chloe, what’s the deal and how is that going to resolve it’s self? 3) Lionel and Lex and how will that resolve as well? Lana’s story line is boring but the rest could be interesting if they would just focus on them instead of dedicating the last 10 minutes of each episode to the big story and the rest on a stand alone rushed superhero story that basically doesn’t contribute to the big story. Episodes about Jor-El, the Caves, developing super powers were always the best episodes from Smallville. We need more of that.
I think it’s time to dump the small stuff and start resolving the big story. Much of this season makes me feel like…. let’s just stretch this out for one more year. I actually think this season would have been a great season to end the series and to focus on answering all the questions us geeks want answered.

Ok, I thought it was very entertaining. I mean, come on folks, it’s comic books. Some random thoughts: I like Green Arrow’s hoodie, Bart’s not so much. I thought actually that it was a good idea that the costumes were bright. I mean, they are supposed to by symbolic and distracting at the same time right? In fact, it would have been neat to have Clark wear a blue Smallville High sweatshirt with a Smallville High red “S” on it and a red jacket over it. Or would that have been too much? I would have like to have seen Clark tell Bart at the end something along the lines of “Impulse? Bad codename. The way you move, why not something like ‘Flash’?” Would have been neat. Hmm, the Justice League as a series? I’m way in favor of that. Maybe Chloe could move there and become Oracle. You just KNEW that you’d see a “Right Stuff” slo-mo shot in there. Cyborg? Well, I didnt see the episode he was in but I wish we could have seen some more metal on him ala Vic Stone in the Titan’s books. Sure was lucky for Arthur that the plant was near a waterway. Sigh. Aquaman is hard to write for. It annoys me that Lois is still on there series. Makes me agree that this has definitely morphed into an Elseworlds story. But really, arent all comics Elseworlds?

I liked it, it was fun and entertaining. If you wanted the DCU Justice League then read the comics. This is a different media so different rules apply. Changes good or bad will always be present nothing is canon in the world of comics and TV. So please all of you peeps complaining need to understand that.

Super Entertaining, but not as solid a story as I wanted. Enjoyed Luthor’s diabolical treatment of Bart, and Aquaman can keep that shirt off as much as he wants (loved the line about him swimming faster when he’s naked). The Oliver and Lois scenes were a snoozefest though. “This is the moment I’ll regret forever isn’t it” (or whatever Ollie says) **Gag** Still, A Lot Of Fun!

I had no expectations coming in to watch this nor was I going to compare this show to X-MEN or HEROES. It would be incredibly foolish to do so.

I actually liked it quite a bit. It was better than most Smallville episodes. The jokes between the members of the group were pretty funny. I was hoping to see more action but otherwise I liked it. I would definitely check out a spin-off if they had one. Something like Mission Impossible with superheroes.

This was a great episode! I haven’t been able to watch for awhile, but it was great stuff. I was cool to see the other characters and have them teaming up. I think to many people get hung up on whether or not the show tie in with the comics. Who cares! If the show is entertaining, than enjoy it. The fact that it is not following the comic opens up tons of possibilities. A spin-off would kick@$$!

I enjoyed the episode for the fun that it was always meant to be. C’mon, all the little nods to fanboys everywhere?! “JL International”, “Watchtower”, and my personal favorite, “Boy Scout”.

This episode screamed spin-off. Just add Black Canary and Huntress from the ol’ Birds of Prey series, and the 6 of them can be traveling around the world attempting to foil the plans of Luthor Corp.

Last night allowed me to just geek out about the possibilities this show has. I liked how it showed Clark’s self-righteousness and that working with others is something he should be doing more. Clark needs a mask or disguise though….there’s not way that plant didn’t have security cameras clocking Clark’s face while he was there.

WB should have let this show end on a high note in a season or two, then made Tom Welling and the Smallville cast into the new Superman movie. Would have been much better than what we got last year.

I’d love to see a GA or JL spinoff series, though! (anyone catch the corporation that Ollie said: ‘JL International’? Yay!)
