Spider-Man 3’s Venom revealed … again

Venom from "Spider-Man 3," by Medicom

Remember back in November when Sony scrambled to shut down a leaked, incomplete trailer for Spider-Man 3 that provided a glimpse of Venom? Well, so much for trying to keep the look of the character a secret: UK’s Empire Online has plenty of shots of Medicom Toys’ very detailed 12-inch Venom figure.

The doll action figure, which is scheduled to ship in the second quarter of 2007, carries a price tag of $99. You can see black-suited Spider-Man, too.

Weird. I like it and all, but it’s weird because everything else I’ve seen so far (trailer leak, video game models, etc) have the spider as being white on his chest.

    Wonder if they changed it.

  2. Jedimastercap Says:

Whatever happened to the white spider logo on Venom’s chest?????

  3. ResIpsa Says:

Is this a Brock Venom, or is it a corrupted Peter in the suit?

  4. NIAM! Says:

    Hawt

  5. Tyler Says:

Looks alright but dang it, I want the big white spider on the chest! Original Venom rocked! Why do they have to muck around with a cool design? Oh well. Still better than the latest Venom comic design. At least he doesn’t look like a wrestler.

  6. Morrison Says:

Thank Marley for the Spider-man movies. They’re the only place I can get well-written Spider-man these days. I can’t wait to see how the new one plays out!

  7. Mike Says:

That\’s dope! The silent, creeping symbiote was always more terrifying to me than the grinning, drooling, wisecracking \”Venom\” with someone inside. And the big tongue was always stupid…

  8. Sean W Says:

Looks weird, but looks good too.

  9. HartyPotter Says:

Looks like Peter Parker in the suit pre-Eddie Brock.

  10. Sam Says:

really would have been nice to have this behind a cut for those of us avoiding spoilers.

  11. Alextheman Says:

As a great man once said: ‘Groovy!’

  12. momo Says:

ehh….not very impressive. venom needs to beef up. get that man some steak.

  13. Josh Says:

Looks really stupid, not the Venom I know.

  14. WatTsu Says:

As far as the spider on Venom’s chest, if you’ll notice the spider on Spidey’s chest is black as well, when we know that’s not the case. These are prototypes and clearly not finished products. I would be incredibly surprised if the film Venom did not have a white spider on his chest.

As far as him not being big enough, well, Topher Grace isn’t exactly a linebacker. I mean, it has to be at least plausible that Venom could derive from Grace’s Eddie Brock.

I like it, except for the weird little boots.

  15. Jedimastercap Says:

That has to be black spidey. Click on the image. You see a large pic. You can see the spidey suit lines in it.

  16. scorpion mk Says:

i looks cool, but it looks like he is wearing a rugby sweater or something

  17. joe Says:

a little too manorexic for venom

  18. AAB Says:

The end of this S-M3 trailer has an appearance of Venom.

I like it. I figured they’d go in this direction. It wouldn’t make much sense for him to look exactly like the comic Venom if we already know that Black Spider-Man is just Spider-Man in a black colored suit. I think it’s brilliant the way they adapted it, how the black Spidey is a slight corruption of the Red and Blues, rather than a whole new look, and the Venom costume is a huge corruption of the Black Spidey costume. It makes a lot of sense. Kudos to Raimi and co. for the coolest adaptation of the Black Costume saga.

  20. journey boy Says:

pretty cool i like it except for the fact that venom should be a bit stronger and should have a white spider.dont get me wrong i like it, that always happens they chance the comic heros costumes but o well…

  21. Evan Says:

well like with everything movie related, i’m not gonna judge too harshly till i see it on screen and in action. as for the spider on his chest not being white that everyone seems to be complaining about, bare in mind that the paler black on the costume such as the spider and the web lines are going to be reflective. so they’ll be very visible like they are on spidey’s black costume. though i am going to admit that venom could deffinetly have been beefier. i know topher grace isn’t a body builder but you know that the symbiote coulda easily created it’s own muscle mass. still though, i ain’t gonna be too harsh till i see it in the movie, where it counts

  22. Venom's symbiote Says:

Like other persons, Venom is too slim for me… I hope that this is not the finale version.

  23. spike Says:

    figures figures,figures!!!i love figures.specially spiderman

  24. spike Says:

  25. Serpen Phlox Says:

  26. steve o Says:

man venom should be a hell of alot bigger it should be the old comic style i hate the way they change appearance when converting a comic book into a movie but i guess id have to see the movie before i complain even more

  27. Dean Says:

    I think it’s AWESOME!!!!!!!
