Richard Neal of Zeus Comics, in Instinct

The January issue of the gay men’s magazine Instinct features a profile of Dallas retailer Richard Neal, owner of Zeus Toys and Comics. The piece includes Neal’s “Top 5 Signs For Knowing A Comic Book Reader Is Gay”:

1. They touch my hand while exchanging cash.
2. Their pull-list consists solely of Aquaman and Green Lantern or conversely Strangers in Paradise and DC’s 52.
3. They talk endless about their hero’s outfit in City of Heroes.
4. They comment on the “bump” on the male action figures.
5. Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman.

    Tell you what, Zeus is one of my favorite comic shops. Their Free Comic Book Day event, CAPE, is the highlight event of the year. Congratulations, Richard. You run a good store!
