It’s Wednesday again, and that means NEW COMICS! Of course if you’re out in the western United States, it might mean LOTS OF NEW COMICS! That is, if everything finally shipped from two weeks in a row of massively allocated comics. If anyone from the affected areas can post if they got their comics, that would be swell.
Let’s see what Blog@ crew are looking forward to this week.
Lisa Fortuner’s Pick of the Week
Green Lantern Corps #8. I’m thrilled to see Gleason back on the title.
Tom Bondurant’s Pick of the Week
For me it’s Agents Of Atlas #6. Going into it, I knew next to nothing about the backstories of these characters, and now I’m sorry to see their highly enjoyable miniseries end.
Kevin Melrose’s Pick of the Week
Tales of the Unexpected #4. It’s probably a little wrong of me, but after the first issue of Tales of the Unexpected, I stopped reading The Spectre lead story. I go straight to Brian Azzarello and Cliff Chiang’s “Dr. 13″ back-up story. It has everything you could want, all in 15- and 16-page installments: professional doubter Terrence Thirteen surrounded by the impossible — including, but not limited to, the undead Andrew Bennett of I … Vampire fame, the dashing Captain Fear and his flying ship, a caveman entombed in ice … Oh, and Nazi gorillas. It’s just goofy fun. From Brian Azzarello. Really.
Stephanie Chan’s Pick of the Week
I was almost going to pick Pirates vs. Ninjas #1 just because it’s called Pirates vs. Ninjas, but then the Yoshitaka Amano Gallery caught my eye.
Think you can do better? Check out Diamond’s shipping list and post your picks!

True Story Swear to God Image Ed. #3 ties with Castle Waiting Vol. II #4 as most anticipated for this week.

Uurrggh. Looked at the wrong week. Those are my picks for NEXT week. For THIS week, Densha Otoko Vol. 2 – the CMX edition (for those who don’t follow manga, there are THREE manga versions of the story published in the US – there are 4 in Japan). I’m watching fansubs of the live-action TV series shown in Japan.

Short week for me this week, but the 2 that standout for me are Justice Society #2 and Thunderbolts #10.

The Books of Doom. The wait for the trade on this one really seemed excruciatingly long.

Kat, don’t worry…Pirates Vs. Ninja #1 was out last week, so you just balanced out Stephanie’s time travel into the past with yours into the future.
If I could bring myself to buy Tales of the Unexpected for just the Dr. Thirteen book, I would be saying the same thing. I’ll get the TPB.

I’m probably looking forward to 52 #35 most. Either that or JSA #2.

thunderbolts #110
and
meltdown #2 (getting to the west coast)

New Mutants Classic Vol 2, I got Vol 1 for Christmas and have really been enjoying re-reading this series. I wonder why Claremont works back then for me but not so much now?
