God bless the Bendis Board. No, really:
“My mom’s colleague knows Steve McNiven’s parents. I was talking to her today and she asked me absent-mindedly if I knew of a comic artist named Steve McNiven. I immediately responded affirmatively, and she went on to say how she was talking with her work colleague. The colleague was saying how her friends had a son who was doing ’something in the comic book field’, and that he was doing well. So, yeah. Who wants to touch me?”
“OMG so jealous. It’s almost as if I wish I were your mom’s colleague.”
“Sean Chen’s mom used to work for my dad.”
“My dad delivers to Joe Kelly.”
Thankfully, Alex Maleev proves to be a creepy equalizer:
“I can make a phone call to your mothers if it makes you happy.”

Not to mock a harmless message board exchange, but WTF. Was that Vision who posted with the phrase: “I immediately responded affirmatively…”? rather than informal board chatter, it read like a sanitized police report.
Oh and I once worked with a woman who had a roommate and the roommate’s aunt and uncle were Louise and Walt Simonson. The co-worker once met the aunt and uncle. I remain jealous to this day, because clearly my life means nothing now that I no longer have that co-worker who had that roommate who had that connection.

I once posted a comment on a thread started by Graeme McMillan.

Are those people for real?
Also, what does this post title refer to?
January 5th, 2007 at 3:18 pm
I’m on the same internet as Stan Lee.

Josh, the post title comes from “Iko Iko”, which was in the movie “Rain Man,” which was filmed in Cincinnati, which I have visited many times.
… Wait, is that how you play this game?

I once worked at a website where the “esteemed” Graeme McMillan worked. My dad can beat up your dad.

Sweet merciful crap, an Iko Iko reference. My day just got that much weirder.
