Not even the stalwart Wall Street Journal could resist a hackneyed headline — “Holy Heroes of Indian Lore, Batman!” — for its otherwise decent profile of Virgin Comics, which focuses on the publisher’s marketing and distribution efforts, its heavy use of Indian mythology, and its stiff competition from Marvel and DC.
“We’re not in the superhero business,” Virgin Comics chief executive Sharad Devarajan is quoted as saying.
