DC announced yesterday that the Gail Simone/Neil Googe Wildstorm book Tranquility, which hits stores today, has been re-titled as Welcome to Tranquility. So be sure to check the “W” section of your local shop today if you’re looking for it.
And if you aren’t sure if you want it or not, DC has a preview of the first few pages up on their site.

1st post! WOOHOO
I had been reading about this 1. After seeing the preview it looks like it might be worth picking up today. Artwork looks nice and the premise of it is interesting.

anyone else notice the LOST numbers on the bus stop?

I guess Joss Whedon sued for “Tranquility” being too close to “Serenity.”
Yes, I kid. But given the current world of trademark and copyright and patent laws, you just never know.

Actually, Steve Ellis had a creator owned comic about eight years ago called Tranquility; I assumed he granted Simone and Googe use of the name (Like Priest allowed Ron Zimmerman to use a character named Woody in Ultimate Adventures). Or mayhap not.
Unlike the Hughes cover, that’s a clever use of the Lost numbers.

I disagree with Dan Coyle. There is nothing clever about the Lost numbers, just as there is nothing clever about Lost. It’s another make-it-up-as-you-go-along charade, but without the batshit crazy charm that Grant Morrison had during the Invisibles.

Actually, Peter, you misread Dan Coyle. He said it was a clever _use_ of the Lost numbers, and said absolutely nothing about the cleverness of the numbers themselves, or about Lost, at all.
You’re obviously way too worked up about the whole subject.

So THAT’S where The Emoticon comes from!
I’ve been wondering that forever ever since I caught a picture of him somewhere. God bless this site.
