I’m going to miss Vaughan’s big 2 work tremendously.

He’s someone who’s written very, very little that I didn’t like.

“It helps define her,” Vaughan said of her {Dr. Mann} sexuality, “but I think too often there’s that token gay character that gets shoehorned into a story line and they’re just there to be gay and nothing beyond that.”

THAT is why I love BKV. I know there are plenty of writers out there that do exactly what he said: shoehorn a character in there for no good reason (the reasons usually being to make the writer seem “hip,” “cool,” or “with it,” to preach to an audience, or to meet some sort of unspoken “qouta”).

But BKV writes characters. And he writes them very well. The fact that they’re gay is an afterthought, not a plot point. Thank you, Brian. You are an awe-inspiring writer, and while I will miss your work for the “Big 2,” I will follow your work where ever you go.

yes, well, umm…I love BKV’s books but the explanation for the plague in “Y” is a huge let-down.
