This weekend, it’s Mid-Ohio Con

"Unmasked," the pre-MOC party

Usually, or at least for the past few years, I spend the weekend after Thanksgiving in Columbus, Ohio, at Mid-Ohio Con, which signals the unofficial end to the convention season. I’m sitting this year out, so I’ll miss, among other things, the event’s move to the Columbus Convention Center, and the first Ferret Press/Panel Collective-sponsored “Unmasked” party, which replaces the traditional Friday “Great Ogre Gathering.”

Notable comics guests include Dick Ayers, Mark Evanier, Al Feldstein, Ron Garney, Kyle Hotz, Adam Hughes, Mark Wheatley, Leonard Kirk, Sean McKeever, Angel Medina, Michael Avon Oeming, Yanick Paquette, Brian Pulido, Don Rosa, Bob Schreck, Beau Smith, Roger Stern, Arthur Suydam and Herbe Trimpe.

I think I’ll fake a groin pull or something to keep from visiting the in-laws in WestbyGodVA this weekend. I’m vuh-huh-huh-HAIRy glad about the move to the convention center (the emergence of the arena district and revitilization of downtown will cheer those who remember that area from back before Mid-Ohio moved to Easton). Feldstein panel looks good, and if I see Bob Schreck, maybe I’ll tell him my Bob Schreck anecdote. Ow! My groin!

And hey, look at that snazzy poster by my STUCK co-creator, Tom Williams!
