TV Squad finds a sign that an animated version of Tony Millionaire’s Maakies is inching closer to Adult Swim: While the show doesn’t appear on the cable network’s recently updated schedule grid, “Maakies” is scrawled at the bottom, under the heading of “Pilots.”
Word was that the series would be called The Drinky Crow Show, so it’s unclear whether this means the title has changed, or if “Maakies” is simply Adult Swim shorthand.
According to this April interview with Millionaire, the show is written by Erik Kaplan (Futurama, Malcolm in the Middle), with Tom Kenny (SpongeBob Squarepants) providing the voice of Drinky Crow.
Also worth pointing out: The Adult Swim schedule also provides a crumb for fans of The Venture Bros. Under the heading “3rd & 4th Q?” is “Venture (26).” Does that mean there will be a third season? And, if so, does “26″ mean 26 episodes? Perish the thought!

The appearance of Klaus Nomi in Venture Bros. warrants it a 26 episode season.
Go Team Venture…

You know, Maakies did a get a trial run on TV’s Funhouse on SNL years ago, with Andy Richter as Drinky Crow.
