Now, why couldn’t there be video of this?
U.K.’s Daily Mail reports that two police officers dressed up as Batman and Robin in a strange fetish fantasy sting operation that ended with the arrest of a drug suspect. Honestly, though, I’m not sure why the officers — Sgt. Tony Smith and PC Mike Holman — donned the masks and capes.
According to the story, “They pretended to be drunks looking for a fancy dress party and knocked on the door of the suspect’s home. … Those inside refused to answer the door to the loud, comically dressed visitors — which was what the officers wanted.”
So the Caped Crusaders went around to the back of the residence while seven uniformed officers knocked on the front door. The people inside complained to the officers about the loud costumed visitors and invited them inside. That’s when one suspect dashed out the back door — and ran right into the waiting Batman and Robin.
“Batman — Sgt Smith — gave chase,” the newspaper writes, “jumped over a fence and BIFF, POW, THWACK, arrested him.”
Am I the only one who thinks Smith and Holman were just itching to dress up as Batman and Robin, and this gave them a convenient excuse? Because, although the plan worked, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
I mean, why couldn’t uniformed police have just knocked on the front door in the first place, sending the suspect running out the back and into other uniformed police?

Oh my god, it’s happening like Grant Morrison predicted. First there was the guy dressed as V on Washington DC, and now this…crazy.

It’s the Daily Mail. What makes you believe the story is in any way true?
