All the way to Memphis: Seven Soldiers delayed in part of the country

Seven Soldiers #1

Seven Soldiers #1, the book many of us here at Blog@ were eagerly anticipating in this week’s Can’t Wait for Wednesday, will be delayed in some parts of the country. Per DC Comics:

Due to an error, retailers serviced by Diamond Comic Distributors’ Memphis Distribution Center will not receive SEVEN SOLDIERS #1 (AUG060221) and SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #23 Standard Edition (AUG060226) this week

These issues now are set to reach retailers on November 1. Retailers will be invoiced for them with their November 1 shipment.

Diamond’s three main distribution centers are located in New York, California and Memphis, Tennessee. Seven Soldiers #1 was originally scheduled to come out last April, but was delayed until this week … and for some of the country, it looks like the delay will be one week more.

Well, it’s felt like a few years, so what’s a week more?

  2. Morrison Says:

    That’s a bummer

  3. ubershep Says:

Serves them right for living in Memphis.

  4. Dan Coyle Says:

On the one hand, a Grant Morrison comic is delayed. On the other, a Mark Waid comic is delayed. There is BALANCE!

  5. Kyle Cowstar Says:

Does this mean the whole Mid-west is screwed? Great….

  6. Matthew E Says:

Does anybody know what areas are served by that distribution center?

  7. DBHughes Says:

This is nothing new for the Memphis Distribution Center. Memphis constantly leaves out books in their shipments to retailers. Why Diamond lets it happen so consistently in Memphis is beyond me; but I guess that’s one of the hallmarks of a monopoly (i.e. why care when there’s no where else to go).

  8. Greg Geren Says:

I live in Oklahoma, the middest of the midwest, and both books were in stock at my shop. Shop owner said we were serviced out of New York, which is much further from us than Memphis, so go figure.

The artwork looked very good but it’s sooo late that I said the hell with it.

They really should get the stuff done and then solicit it.
