Civil War Public Service Announcement: How Well Do You Know Captain America?

Recently, certain advertisements have run at this website claiming that the United States government’s Superhero Registration Act and those supporting it are fascist and unpatriotic. These libelous accusations have been been directed by our great country’s former symbol of freedom, ex-Avenger Captain America.

What you’re not being told, however, is how Captain America – currently a fugitive, running from the law of this great nation of ours – has spent over half a century hiding his true colors behind a hypocritical mask of red, white and blue.

How well do you know America’s greatest living legend?

Captain America vocally opposes registering with the United States government – however, a lifetime ago in Brooklyn, New York, he registered himself as a soldier in the United States Army, helping protect the world against the threat of invasion and the Axis Powers. Why now, when the government he claims to love is taking steps to protect itself from unbalanced, unchecked individuals with the power to destroy, won’t he step forward and side with Uncle Sam?

Captain America’s smear campaign targets fine, registered American heroes like Anthony Stark, slandering them as “reckless” and attacking them for substance abuse – however it was Captain America who recklessly endangered the life of James Buchanan Barnes by enlisting him to fight overseas in wartorn Europe, risking a child’s life over and over in one deadly battle after the next. And though Captain America may point the finger of blame at a problem Anthony Stark triumphed over by taking responsibility for his actions and getting the help he needed, even today America’s Sentinel of Liberty attributes his strength, speed and skill to a narcotic in a day an age where young men and women are dying in the war against drugs.

Captain America wants you to rebel against the system. He wants you to fight against the men and women working to create a safe America… a RESPONSIBLE America. Men and women like Peter Parker, who risked his life, family and future to reveal himself to the world as the hero named Spider-Man. Captain America wants you to ignore this young man’s noble sacrifice and join a subversive group of fugitives, seeking to undermine the U.S. Government.

Captain America says he’s fighting for your freedoms and the red, white and blue. But do you really want a drug abuser savior who uses anarchy and subversiveness to speak for you, the American people? Do you want a Captain America that puts the “red” in “red, white and blue”?

Vote with your heart and for your country and support the Registration Act. You’ll be helping America’s heroes save us from themselves.

Captain America doesn’t seem to have a lot of sex, either. That’s not very American.

Come to think of it, you also never see him eating fried foods.

    Great comment Jason!

  4. Jay Says:

    Spider-Man’s a pussy.And a sellout.

Cap is like 100 years old, and he still has the balls to flip the government the bird.

    Go, Cap!! America, F*ck yeah!!

  5. Sean W Says:

Y’know………shame on Marvel for letting stuff like this even exist. Political ignorance and hatred belongs in real life, not in comics.

    Whose side am I on?

    I’m with DC.

  6. Matt Says:

Cap’s is in excellent physical condition. That’s not very American these days.

Do those wings on his head actually serve any purpose at all? Always wondered….
