Rogue Pictures snags rights to vampire comic

October 17th, 2006

Rogue Pictures, the genre branch of NBC Universal’s Focus Features, has picked up the film rights to the upcoming vampire comic Blood on the Tracks. (I love that the Hollywood Reporter points out the comic is “evidently unrelated” to the Bob Dylan album of the same name.)

The comic, from Radical Comics — I can’t find mention of them anywhere else — centers on a series of murders in the New York subway system that turns out to be the handiwork of a vampire who’s lived in the tunnels since the city was known as New Amsterdam.

Artist Philip Bond is set to illustrate the comic.

Whoa! The comic hasn’t come out yet and the rights have been acquired already? That’s what I call having the right connection. Or a lot of luck. :p
