The Marshall, Mo., Democrat-News hasn’t updated its website with coverage from last night’s library board meeting, but Dirk Deppey called the newspaper to learn the fate of Blankets and Fun Home:

According to Deppey, the two graphic novels have been pulled while the Marshall Public Library Board of Trustees forms a committee to draft a “material selection policy” to help steer what books make it on the shelves.

We’ll update later as more information becomes available.

Update 1: Newsarama also calls the Democrat-News, and talks to reporter Zack Sims about last night’s meeting.

Update 2 (5:10 p.m.): The Democrat-News has posted its coverage of the meeting on its website. The article includes quotes from library board president Anita Wright about the proposed “material selection policy”: “Research will be done to find out what other libraries throughout the state — and we can even inquire nationally if desired — have done in this arena.”
