DC is still plugging away at bringing fans their weekly dose of 52, an experiment that seems to be rather successful for the company. DC is also rewarding Sandman fans with the Absolute Sandman Vol. 1 Hardcover for the astonishingly low price of $99.00 (That’s right, not $99.99, but $99.00).
Image is still bringing the edge with Bomb Queen Vol. 2 #1 and the mystery with Emissary #5. If you’re a Rick Spears fan, his new Image series The Pirates of Coney Island #1 hits shelves as well.
For those of you waiting for more work from Greg Land and you can’t get enough of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, then Ultimate Power #1 should suffice. Let’s see if the Blog@ Gang will be sampling any of those goods…
Tom Bondurant’s Pick Of The Week
Well, the fall horse-racing meet is underway in my old hometown, so if I were there, I’d hope for a longshot to come in, and spend the money on Absolute Sandman Vol. 1. Otherwise, I’m eager to see Firestorm #30, mostly because it looks like I figured out the Mystery VIllain’s identity a couple of months ago and this issue might just be the confirmation. (Besides, Firestorm has turned into a reliable bit of superhero comfort food that, unfortunately, appears to need all the help it can get.)
Lisa Fortuner’s Pick Of The Week
Just Green Lantern Corps #5, and 52 for me. A very light week.
Hey, what’s on your pull list? Take a look at the Diamond shipping list and stop back here to let us know what you’ll be getting. I’ll try to be more controversial next week.

Gah!! Thanks, Eddy! I got caught up in the hype of the moment and didn’t catch the differences. Time for an edit!!

The Escapists 4 comes out tomorrow!
Runaways is the only BKV book I like more. It’s that good.

I’ll definitely be checking out Runaways with Whedon writing. I’ll need to catch on the entire series by then. I expect that book to be a HUGE seller with the next creative team.

Great another week where you guys don’t want to pick new comics but instead want to go ga-ga over reprints. In this case a hundred dollar reprint that’s out of many fans price range. You should change the title of this blog to Can’t Wait to Read What I’ve Already Read.
I already own the entire series as single issues and as hardcover collections. Who really needs one more version?
I would think a brand new DMZ, a new Spectre story in Tales of the Unexpected #1, a new Powers Issue and Ultimate Power #1 might be of more interest. Especially to fans not spending over a hundred bucks on comics this week. Is DC buying you guys off or something?

Crap! Gorky has got us figured out! RUN!!
Where do YOU get off asking if DC has bought us off, Gorky? HUH? I think that we’ve made our stance known for a LONG TIME that Marvel owns us. And that we’re for lease to the occasional smaller tiered publishers like Dark Horse, Image, and even IDW.
You really, REALLY need to pay attention. Then voice the APPROPRIATE complaints.

Half those titles you’re recommending are DC. Are they buying you off, too?

My picks this week will be:
1] Will Speedball survive the shooting he took? and will Wonderman find out what those blue-boys are actually planning? I guess I’ll find out in Frontline #7
2] New X-Men closing issue on Nimrod in #31
3] The first steps to the big change of the New Thunderbolts in #107
4] The Spaceadventure continues in Uncanny X-Men #479

Clearly Stephanie, I’ve only been half bought since I only gave them 50% of my reccomendations. Sadyly, I sold out for regular comics unlike the pro whores who apparently got a free hundred dollar hardcover. I need to bone up on selling myself to major publishers this weekend. And what did the lovely Miss Chan look forward to this week or did you just show up to complain and carry the water for Tom and Chris?

Oh, good grief.
If they’re handing out free hundred-dollar hardcovers, somebody forgot to tell me.

What amuses me most about this is that Tom’s pick was Firestorm …

“What amuses me most about this is that Tom’s pick was Firestorm…”
I was wondering if I was the only one to notice that…
