Alls I knows is, Flash deserves to have far, far better art than he has right now. Good god, DC. YOu relaunched this series, made a new Flash and this is how you want it to look?! The Flash is one of The Big Seven. He deserves a top-notch artist.

I’ve read continuously Flash for a long time, since before Iris was killed at the masquerade party. These aren’t the worst Flash issues I’ve seen. There are some real stinkers in the Wally run pre-Waid.
But this book only has OK art at best and the story feels slow and this is not the way to kick off a new series or introduce the new Flash. I certianly don’t look forward to reading Flash anymore.

Both this series and Wonder Woman have actively taken steps backwards since Infinite Crisis which I’m pretty sure is not what DC wanted. I don’t know what DC expected out of Brave New World but I can’t believe what we’ve seen is it. At least 52 remains fun and is a big hit.

Great article. I would love to see an story where Bart as lost total control over the Speed Force and energized bodies start flying out of him. Max, the West family, Barry, Savatar. Bring in the Source wall and Mr. Miracle and you have yourself a few kick ass issues. Unless they do it Marvel style and it takes one year.

The last four issues of the previous series and the first two of the current Flash series are the worst string of comics I’ve ever read.

Aging Bart four years and then trying to pigeonhole him into the role of the Flash was an awful idea. It ruins two characters: Bart, and the Flash. I’m glad I dropped it when I did — the “embedded souls/spirits” thing is ever more pointless. You take a simple concept — a guy who can run really fast — and then make it more and more complex and confusing to the point where it just turns people off. Like me.

If they wanted a new Flash, they should have just started over with a totally new character — the new Blue Beetle and Atom characters are both fun. Hell, Eliza/Trajectory from 52 would have been OK, seeing as how she was inspired by Impulse.

I like these issues. I love Bart and really love Kyle. Good comparison. I want Bart to stay the Flash since it’s lame when the predecessor comes back and competely takes over the role. See Green Arrow and Green Lantern…Hal and Ollie are cool, but it sucks to be Connor and Kyle fan.

I think it would help if his comic wasn’t terrible in every conceivable way. Bart’s a good character and was one of my fav’s in Teen Titans, but this is just an awful and somewhat pointless book considering the legacy and quality DC threw away in order to create it.
