If you’re in the market for John Byrne original art, now’s your chance to head over to eBay and bid in the bi-annual John Byrne insensitive comments auction blowout:

Due to some idiotic and very insensitive remarks made by John Byrne in his forums regarding the unfortunate death of Steve Irwin(Crocodile Hunter) I have decided to sell my only art from Mr Byrne.

I was really shocked when I was reading his comments about Steve. I understand we live in a Democracy and freedom of speech, but to be glad about someones death is in my eyes truly pathetic. I read where another member did not agree with Johns views and decided to exit his forums. I cant believe that other members hold this guys over inflated, egotistical views in such high esteem. Steve Irwin did alot of crazy things but he had alot of guts and was a great entertainer, while Mr Byrne was an outstanding artist and still believes he is in the 80s and can say idiotic things while people in his message boards will not stand up to his rantings, and keep feeding his enormous ego.

Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Steve Irwin’s family.

“Bi-annual,” you ask? Yep … seems back in 2004, someone sold all the John Byrne issues of Fantastic Four and donated the proceeds to the Christopher Reeve foundation. One of my Blog@ co-conspirators remembered this happening before, but we had a hard time remembering if it was due to his Christopher Reeve comments, his blonde Latinos/hookers comments or something else he said.
