In nicer auction news, Gene Ha is holding a second auction to raise money for the education of Brianna Winston, whose father, Guy, died on New Year’s Eve:

Welcome to our second auction to raise college money for a great kid, Brianna. Up on the block we have the original art of the album cover for Blöödhag’s “Hellbent for Letters.”

Blöödhag have earned themselves a reputation performing at libraries, schools, Sci-Fi cons and bookstores, as well as the standard rock n’ roll venues. Every show guarantees three things: 1. loud, fast death metal songs containing vital biographic and bibliographic information about famous sci-fi, fantasy and horror authors. 2. free paperback books (hurled forcefully at your head). 3. Full course credit at Evergreen University. Blöödhag’s mission is to spread the gospel of the four L’s: Life, Liberty, Literacy and Libraries. To further this mission they have created their own musical genre, Edu-Core. This mission is brought to life in the Gene Ha painting for thier newest album “Hell Bent For Letters” (Alternative Tentacles CD/LP ATR357).
