My failure, a movie.

September 15th, 2006

Being Scottish, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode of Astro Boy. I have no idea what he’s all about, nor why he’s so beloved by so many in America, nor do I think that I’ve ever heard this theme song, which is apparently very good. This is undoubtedly a failing in my cultural education that I will be struggling forever to correct, but in the meantime, let me pass on that there is another Astro Boy movie in the works:

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Imagi Animation Studios has optioned rights to Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy to produce a CGI animated feature for 2009 release.

Astro Boy creeps me out. It’s like seeing a half-naked version of Big Boy.

Actually, now that I think about it, Big Boy looks a lot like a cartoon Ronald Reagan. So by default, when you watch Astroboy, yer really watching Ronnie in littlepants.
