How old is Lex anyway? In there, he looks like superman's long lost grandfather. It's cool though.

Shelly said:

"Lex believes he’s already defeated Superman even if Superman doesn’t yet know it. Lex isn’t just oblivious to the threat behind him and confident of his abilities, he’s confident that he’s already won. Nothing else matters anymore..."

And this is proved in the end of the story where Lex reveals he has a secret escape route, but he hasn't used it. Why should he if he has "won", i.e., killed Superman.
----------
Good example, Lisa. Keep up the good work.

I am rather fond of Frank's artwork, and I
loved this issue. Take a look at Lex's feet, doesn't it look as though he's going to trip over the weight on the floor? The
part where he draws on his own eyebrown is
just hilarious as well.

I'll add that, given the end of that issue, Lex believes he's already defeated Superman even if Superman doesn't yet know it. Lex isn't just oblivious to the threat behind him and confident of his abilities, he's confident that he's already won. Nothing else matters anymore, certainly not Clark. Once you get to the end of this chapter, looking back you can see yet more in Lex's posturing.
